In the beginning God made light Bible Story and craft idea to use with young children.
How everything began is recorded for us in Genesis 1. Telling the story of Creation to young children is a great opportunity to help children understand that they are special and important because God made them.
In the beginning God made light story idea
You will need some dark blue or black fabric and some white fabric (sheets or blankets are fine)

Before the world began there was God. God had no beginning; he has always been.
Then God began to make the world.
It was dark! (show the dark fabric). And then God said, ‘Let there be light.’ And there was light! (show white fabric). God was making the world from nothing. We can’t do that! If we make something we need something to make it with. If we want to build a tower we need bricks. If we want to make a sandwich we need bread. But God is so powerful he made things from nothing!
Now God had made darkness and light. But they were mixed up. So God separated the light and the darkness. God called the light day and God called the darkness night. That was the very first day ever!
