This craft has a bit of preparation – there is some cutting out for an adult or older child to do. I made a template to speed the process up!
All you need to make the ‘baby in the manger’ scene is :-
Good quality paper plates – preferably with a definite rim. You will be using the back of the plate.
Tissue paper cut into squares – dark blue and yellow
Shredded tissue paper – yellow
Brown paper cut into small squares
Grey/dark crayons to shade the silhouette of the baby’s head
Stars
Glue sticks
To make –
Have an example to show the children and explain what it is that they are making.
Stick the tissue paper and brown paper followed by shredded tissue to make the straw. Add the star and shade the silhouette of the babies head.
For this stage give children an additional paper plate to act as a support under the craft plate. It will make sticking much easier.
When everything has dried the final stage is to fold the plate.
